Severe storms which
have spawned numerous reported tornadoes since Monday, June 16th, continue to
impact many Midwestern states today, including Nebraska, Iowa, South Dakota and
Wisconsin. The town of Pilger, Nebraska was hit the worst by two
tornadoes that destroyed much of the area. The people in these areas will
need financial assistance over the coming weeks and months as they rebuild.
Direct Relief’s Emergency Response Team has offered assistance to its health center partners in Nebraska following twin tornadoes that devastated the town of Pilger and surrounding areas on Monday
The Salvation Army’s Emergency Disaster Services (EDS) teams are mobilized on the scene in northeast Nebraska, providing food, beverage and spiritual support to survivors and first responders with support from nearby Omaha and Sioux City, IA.
Red Cross disaster workers responded across several states after tornadoes, heavy rain, strong winds and hail moved through Nebraska, Iowa, South Dakota and Wisconsin.
